Sinfonietta – a multi-movement exploration of varieties of religious experience – was co-commissioned by the South Dakota and West Virginia Symphonies, along with several generous individuals. South Dakota Symphony gave the premiere in January 2017. West Virginia is up next, with a substantially revised version, to be conducted by the new music director, Lawrence Loh. I’m looking forward to making new friends and taking part in a variety of community and education activities as well when I travel to Charleston on the 5th, and then to Parkersburg on the 6th.
